Not every destination wedding requires a flight to an exotic, far away country. In fact, BC has some absolutely spectacular locations with exclusive resorts, fabulous nature, and superb sights. The only real challenge is the weather (see previous post!).
Here are some snaps from our October Bride & Groom E&C at Poets Cove Resort, Pender Island. Now this was an October wedding and I packed for rain but instead sorely missed my sunglasses! In fact the weather and fall colours in October were richer and more brilliant than I had seen all summer. The blues were BLUE, the fall leaves bright ORANGE and RED and YELLOW!
The best part about a wedding at Poets Cove is that from Friday until Sunday, all your guests are celebrating in one spot. The guests arrived on Friday – had a family celebration, relaxed and enjoyed the amenities. Saturday was a spectacular wedding (yes it was cold – but it looks warm).
E&C had incredibly touching vows – and trust me – its hard to take photos of so much passion and not shed a tear (hint – I always do!). We were able to round up all the guests for a great group photo with the resort as a backdrop, some traditional family photos and a few crazy fun ones too!
With lots of time & plenty of light – E&C dared the steep cliffs to take some stunning wedding photos. Now the leaf shot – that was just pure childish fun!
The reception was a buzz of toasts, laughter, and plenty of dancing all night long.
The next day, after weary dance feet were rested, everyone was treated to a delicious buffet brunch and then the ferry ride home. It was like a mini-holiday for everyone (including me) and without the stress of different hotels, taxi rides, finding restaurants – all the guests could relax and really enjoy the weekend and wedding.
